Workshop Purposeful Interrupting
Online (Zoom)
Most people think interrupting is rude.
But when done with purpose and care? It’s a gift. 🎁
We’ve all been there…
💬 A team discussion gets completely derailed
💬 One voice dominates, while others stay silent.
💬 Valuable ideas get lost in the noise.
By developing a highly underrated communication skill, we can turn a potentially rude interruption into something purposeful and meaningful for all people involved.
In Systemic Modelling, we work from a stance of "Accept and Extend." It’s not about shutting people down or making them feel wrong or upset. It's about staying connected and gently guiding attention where it's needed most.
Here are 3 reasons you could interrupt:
1️⃣ To make space: Bring in quiet voices and diverse perspectives.
2️⃣ To redirect attention: Focus the group on a valuable idea before it slips away.
3️⃣ To highlight patterns: Pause the flow to help the group see the bigger picture.
This is about applying the theory. It is a practical application of skills that anyone can learn and practice.
This will be a paid workshop in English.
I'm seeing a lot of people responding they can't come to the next instance of this workshop, so I'm already posting this so people can use the "Save the Date" option to get notified!
